The Blue Beast
Before becoming the Warrior of Darkness, Korinn Rhydach was known not for her feats of heroism but her ferocity on the Bloodsands. As the “Blue Beast”, she fought with a feral desperation that appalled and excited the braying crowds in equal measure.
Unlike individuals enrolled in Ul’dah’s Gladiators’ Guild, Korinn was forced into the violent sport by poverty and crime. Korinn never divulged her origins during her time in the golden city, but it was known that a combination of discrimination and bad luck left her indebted to the Alchemists’ Guild. After a desperate robbery went wrong, she was captured by the Brass Blades and forced to pay off her debts in the Colosseum, where she stayed for over four years, even through the turmoil following the seventh umbral calamity.
Korinn played the part of the heel perfectly, using her very real fury at the injustices of the capitalist city-state to stoke a fire that she directed at the audience and sultanate to choruses of boos. Later, she would admit that she lost herself to her rage for a time and although she regrets the misery that she inflicted upon herself, she stands by her condemnation of Ul’dah and its government.
